Description

This activity uses cards to teach the binary number system. Each card represents a "bit" (short for "binary digit"), and the card can either be face up (to represent a one), or face down (to represent a zero). The dots on the face of each card represent the value of that card, so that the total value of the number being shown using multiple cards can be found by simply adding up the number of dots that are visible. Additional activities and background information on how computers actually store bits are included, as are solutions and hints (on page 13). Less
