Description

This assignment uses a box-model to simulate the earth's carbon cycle. The model hindcasts the atmospheric CO2 increase during the industrial era and compares it to the historic observations of atmospheric CO2 concentrations. The model then forecasts future concentrations of atmospheric CO2 during the next century. This activity was peer reviewed by participants at the 2004 Teaching Quantitative Skills in a Geoscience Context Workshop at Carleton College.
