Description
This web site features selections from three National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) film-video collections: NASA History, United Newsreel, and Department of the Interior. The NASA films (1962-1981) include the "Headquarters Films" that document significant events in the U.S. space program. The United Newsreels films (1942-1945) were produced during World War II by the U.S. Office of War Information for overseas viewers. The set of Department of the Interior Motion Pictures, mostly from the 1930s, document the establishment of the national parks system, the building of Boulder Dam, the establishment of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), water and wind erosion, Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) workers, and other projects.
