CCPT Institute: Dual Enrollment: Bridging the Gap and Building Pathways to Post-Secondary Education
Owned By
Description
Cuesta College implemented a comprehensive dual enrollment program
in the past three years and has grown to all secondary sites in SLO
County creating opportunities for over 2000 students. Working with
Paso Robles High School, the action plan created an innovative
opportunity to integrate college curriculum into CTE pathways at
multiple levels. Students receive college credit throughout their
pathway, starting with career exploration and ending with a
capstone course. This allows CTE students a clear and defined
pathway to the community college and beyond. The presentation will
give attendees a overview of how we achieved this and answer
questions about the barriers and roadblocks with possible
solutions. In addition, ideas for starting dual enrollment
conversations with your college will be given.
