Students with intellectual and developmental disabilities
(including autism) represent a growing segment of the student
population at California community colleges. Recent federal and
state policies will likely result in more of these students seeking
equitable access to college and careers. This presentation will
provide and overview of 1) policies designed to support
postsecondary education and career pathways for individuals with
disabilities, 2) potential partners to support efforts, and 3)
existing practices demonstrating success in the areas of education
and employment for students with disabilities.
