The Big Read Literature Series
The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. The NEA presents The Big Read in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in cooperation with Arts Midwest. The Big Read brings together partners across the country to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment. While the program itself is tied to the idea of supporting reading communities across the U.S. engaged in the exploration of common titles, the resources that have been bundled around each piece of literature in the way of Reader's Guides, Teacher's Guides, and Radio Shows serves as a valuable commodity for the classrooms everywhere.
