I am interested in offering online professional development for the teachers in our district's BTSA program next year. Can anyone recommend a good online program? I am looking into ilinc, gotomeeting, and blackboard but would like to get recommendations from those that are using such programs.
We love Elluminate. Did you know that Elluminate provide free rooms for teachers that can hold up to three people. It has full video and whiteboard functionality. Our teachers use Elluminate with their students for virtual office hours. You can get the free rooms here
We have been using Blackboard and it is easy to use and has all the features that teachers need to build an online environment all in one place. It is a little pricey but if money is not an issue...my vote is Blackboard.
I agree with Michael - Moodle is easy to use and is a great place to store resources and connect with your students/workshop attendees. If your COE or district doesn't have Moodle already in place, you can get a free account from here: http://www.k12hsn.org/calaxy/

I use Moodle with my high school students. It is free, and allows you to post a variety of content.
Thanks // Del Beshore
Cool - I'll give the site a look!

Elluminate is Great // Lori Morton
I used Elluminate as a master's student and really enjoyed it. It is very user friendly, but I'm not sure what the cost would be.
Thanks // Lori Morton
Thanks Delaine! We were thinking about trying Moodle. Now I can look into it for free.
Moodle // Corey Greenlaw
Can Moodle allow me to do the live conference call with sharing my desktop? That is one thing I really liked about Elluminate.

I recently received an email stating that K12HSN will be phasing Moodle out and will now support CaliQity.

New courses will no longer be available after June 30th.
Another vote for Moodle // Matt Evans
Our district has been running Moodle for about 5 years now. It's gaining momentum as a learning system platform and you can't beat the price.
