2.3 Text-Dependent Reading Interactions
One of the key emphases of the CA CCSS for ELA/Literacy is for students to base their answers, whether in writing or in speaking, on evidence from text that they read.
Text-dependent questions can help guide students to extract information directly from the text to help them understand important concepts. For young students, sentence frames help students answer text-dependent questions.
