K–8 content standards are organized by grade level. The standards at each grade level are organized into Domains. These Domains represent the areas of focus for each grade level.

High school content standards are organized into Conceptual Categories. The Conceptual Categories each contain Domains. Select a Conceptual Category above to view the Domains. Modeling is also a Conceptual Category. The Modeling Conceptual Category is a collection of standards that are indicated by a (?) symbol throughout the other Conceptual Categories. Since modeling standards are embedded in the other Conceptual Categories, it does not appear in the chart above.
 


The Content Standards emphasize three shifts in mathematics:

  • Focus strongly where the Standards focus.
  • Coherence: Think across grades, and link to major topics within grades.
  • Rigor: In major topics pursue conceptual understanding, procedural skill and fluency, and application with equal intensity.
