Welcome to the Teacher of the Year Feature

Overview

California began the process of recognizing outstanding teachers in 1972. The program has become a vehicle for show casing highly qualified teachers as emphasized in the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).

One of the goals of the program is to “identify and honor exemplary and highly qualified teachers throughout California within a structure of local, regional, and statewide recognition activities.”  Digital Chalkboard is honored to assist in making a part of this happen by having a featured spot for the Teachers of the Year.
