Celebration and Recognition

Natomas Unified believes that student achievement should be recognized and celebrated. Two ways that Natomas Unified does this is by conducting two annual ceremonies to celebrate English learner students: Reclassification and the Seal of Biliteracy. Students qualifying for reclassification from English learner status are awarded for their hard work and achievement. At an annual ceremony parents and teachers gather to recognize students that have attained their proficiency in English.

One other program that Natomas offers is the Seal of Biliteracy, this program is for students that have attained proficiency in English as well as one or more World Languages.

On this page, Chris Evans discusses why the Seal of Biliteracy program is important at Natomas.
