Unit 3: Looking at Student Work
This unit is a continuation of the grade-level lessons you viewed in Unit 2. In this unit you will have the opportunity to look at student work from the lessons you saw, analyze some student work, and backward plan lessons that meet the needs of students.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR UNIT 3
- Reflect on your classroom assessment practice and compare it with a framework for assessment that incorporates both science and literacy learning
- Analyze student work generated from a lesson illustrated
in Unit 2 to:- Identify student learning in science and
literacy - Learn to “backward plan” lessons and assessments to
meet student needs in science and literacy - Use trends in student work to guide instruction and
monitor student learning
