3.6.2 Lesson Ideas in Technical Subjects for Standards 7, 8, and 9
There are many ways to design instruction to develop reading skills and provide multiple opportunities for students to foster these reading competencies within the technical subjects. The following lesson ideas were created by California teachers to demonstrate how to address Reading Standards 7, 8, and 9 in tandem with specific technical subject content standards.
Select the lesson ideas below that most closely relate to your grade or subject. While you read the examples, consider how you would apply the concepts to your own instruction to meet the diverse needs of your students.
