3.2.2 Lesson Ideas in Technical Subjects, Standard 1
There are many ways to design instruction to develop reading skills and provide multiple opportunities for students to foster reading competencies within the technical subjects. The following lesson ideas were created by California teachers to demonstrate how to address Reading Standard 1 in tandem with specific technical subject content standards.
Read the examples below that most closely match your content area or grade span. You may wish to explore some or all of the tasks to spark your own ideas for designing lesson plans, linking your content standards with the CCSS. Consider how you would modify instruction to fit your courses and meet the diverse needs of your students
