Download Appendix B: Text Exemplars and Sample Performance Tasks. Use the table of contents to find and read the sample texts for either “Drama” or “Informational Texts: Science, Mathematics, and Technical Subjects” for your grade band before responding to the reflection questions that follow.

  • Describe the ways in which you provide students, in your content area, with increasingly complex texts.
  • How do you select these texts?
  • How do you support all students so they become independent and proficient readers of complex texts in your content area?
