Unit 1: College and Career Readiness in the Technical Subjects
This unit discusses the importance of literacy instruction through the technical subjects in K–12, and provides an introduction to the concept of college and career readiness.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR UNIT 1
Throughout and upon completion of Unit 1, you will:
- Understand how the CCSS prepares high school
students for graduation and entry into higher
education and careers - Examine the attributes of well-prepared “college and
career ready” students in the technical subjects - Examine the differences and/or similarities between college
readiness and career readiness
