Participants will include:
Local Educational Agency (LEA) Teams-Teams are comprised of staff included in the SUMS grant
application and should include representatives from various stakeholder interest areas.
What will we learn?
Day 1 & 2:
Foundations of MTSS is about the understanding why and how MTSS is to be implemented and sustained throughout the State, Region, County, District and School sites.
Day 3:
- Designing your MTSS plan
- Transformation Teaming
- SUMS Overview
- MTSS & Supporting Domains
- LCAP/MTSS Crosswalk
- What is Your “Why”?
- 6 Technical Assistance Practices
- Fidelity Integrity Assessment FIA)
- Theory of Action for Transformation
- Initiative Inventory
- LEA Self-Assessment & MTSS Readiness Survey
- Design the Future
- Transformation Teaming-- Aligning Your Teams
Structuring Your MTSS is about data-based conversations to identify priorities and steps needed to achieve sustainable transformation.
Transformation Practices will include:
- Data Snapshots (LCAP, LEA Self-Assessment, School FIA results, CA Data Dashboard, Other Local Assessments--DIBELS results, benchmark assessments, etc.)
- Transformation Teaming--Communication Plan and Roles and Responsibilities
- Priority Practice
- Resource Mapping and Matching
Day 4:
Engineering Your MTSS is a review of tools to help schools and districts identify available resources, set clear rules for when to provide additional support, and deliver equitable resources and support when needed.
Transformation Practices will include:
- Transformation Teaming: Communication Plan- facilitators & barriers
- Resource Inventory
- Tiered Intervention Matrix/FIA results connection
- Master Scheduling
Day 5:
Advancing your MTSS is about ensuring attention to the coaching and facilitation that will continue to
advance efforts and formatively assess progress to inform next steps.
Transformation Practices will include:
- Coaching and Facilitation
- Create a shared understanding with their team
- Determine strengths, opportunities, and next steps as it relates to CAMTSS framework, TA Practices and tools
- Engage in EdCamp with colleagues
- Learn about future opportunities
